Which means you can now order the first three Legends of Light novellas in one hard copy special!
Right now you may be wondering.
What is legends of the Light?
Well I'm glad you asked... Behold! The Legends of the light!
A war, founded in ancient legends, changes the lives of those it touches forever.
Elissa, a villager from the northern mountains, attempts to save her brother and ends up trapped in a hidden valley with a strange host and a treacherous enemy.
Evrard, the Wingmaster of the Prince’s army, races against his own weakening powers to discover the location of his twin and save her from deadly mistbenders.
Haydn, a pardoned rebel from Tauscher’s army, confronts shadows of myth and former comrades in his struggle to keep his sister safe and find the stolen Stormestone.
BONUS
Before the war, before the legends, before the Separation, there was a man who started it all. There was a curse, a promise, and a sacrifice. There was the Oathkeeper.
Fairy tales retold as you have never heard them before.
ROSE OF THE OATH: Beauty and the Beast
SONG OF THE SWORD: Rapunzel
SHADOWS OF THE HERSWEALD: Hansel and Gretel
and
ROSE OF THE NIGHT: a Rose of the Oath prequel
Order Burning Rose now!
Sounds like a sick deal to me! Now I've read two of the novellas within the Burning Rose and let me tell you I'm super excited for the release of this! All the novellas rolled into one book with the added bones of an extra story?! Doesn't get much better then that!
Perhaps your wondering How long does it take to write and edit a novella? What is the process? Well I was recently able to ask her the exact same question and this is her response
It will vary
from person to person, but my process looks something like this:
Month 1:
I spend a week
or two outlining the novella, naming characters, and coming up with pictures of
them. I’ve normally been thinking about the
story for awhile before this, but this is where I pull everything together.
Then I spend
around two weeks writing the novella. Since the word count of my novellas are
25,000-30,000 words I tend to write around 2500-3000 words a day for those
weeks.
Month 2:
I set up a
sign-up form for beta readers at the beginning of the month and run through the
story once or twice. Around halfway through the month I close sign ups and send
out the novella to beta readers with a month deadline.
Month 3:
While beta
readers are working through the novella, I’ll
go over it again. I’ll also correct each beta reader’s corrections as I get
them back. Then I read the whole novella out loud to myself. By the end of the
third month (sometimes earlier), the novella is generally ready for editing.
Month 4:
I send the
novella to an editor. This will take around two weeks. In the meantime, I get
the cover made if I haven’t already and open
sign-ups for review readers. About halfway through the month, I’ll have my
cover reveal and start getting collecting sign-ups for a launch team. Week
three, I send out the ARCs (Advanced Reader Copies) to all my review readers
and plunge fully into marketing mode. I’ll have also announced my release date
by then, which is generally the end of the 5th month (note that I’m talking
about months as times, not ‘months’ themselves, so the ‘end’ of a month could
be the beginning or middle of one).
Month 5:
I close
sign-ups for the launch team, start preparing graphics, blog posts, emails, and
all the rest of the things I need before the launch. Then I actually launch it!
There you have
it! Five months from writing to launch, give or take a month or two. I went
through this process with all three of my novellas and now I’m combining them
into one paperback version, Burning
Rose!
