Guess what, they are back!

Hey everyone and welcome to a new post!

Marrok, it’s not even Thor’s-day. What’s up with the post?

Well, this is a very unexpected post. But the news was so cool I just had to share it with y'all. Yesterday we (DC fans) got some long awaited news.

Well what is it?

Warner Bros. has officially confirmed Young Justice Season 3!

What is Young Justice? And why do you care for season 3?

Well, YJ is one of the most AWESOME superhero shows ever made!!!

Okay, let me give you some background:

Young Justice was a cartoon that aired on Cartoon Network from 2011 to 2013 (has it really been three years?!). It followed the adventures (and... altercations) of the DC's main superhero sidekicks (like Batman, Flash, Aquaman and others); becoming a team and going on black-opt like mission (does that not sound cool already?).  The show had two seasons and was adored by fans. The cast of characters is diverse enough anyone could find a hero/heroin they liked while not having an overly big cast. In the first season we see the formation of the main team:

Superboy (clone of Superman).

Robin (Batman's sidekick).

 Kid Flash (The Flash's sidekick)

 Aqualad (Aquaman's sidekick).

Miss Martian (Martian Manhunter niece).

 Artemis (Green Arrow's sidekick).

Season one centers around the struggles of the new team (both on the field and off it). While season two (titled Invasion)...
deals with the team becoming more of a heavy hitter like their mentors The Justice League, while still introducing new lovable characters .

Young Justice has one of the tightest plots of any superhero cartoon. The art style is amazing, a hybrid of both western and eastern art styles. Although I love the character roster, Young Justice isn’t a totally flawless show. There were a few episodes that had some things I didn’t agree with, and two I didn’t watch altogether (ep.7 Denial, ep.18 Secrets,).  So let me hit you with the negatives about Young Justice.

Negatives:

There is magic/spell casting. We see this from the villains and heroes (only two heroes though, Dr. Fate and Zatanna). There is a rude reference made by Kid Flash in episode 5 (Schooled). I don’t know if you see this as a negative (I see it as cool though) but there is some violence (but nothing that passes a PG rating). Sometimes members of the YJ team are short with their fellow team-mates. Sometimes there is a little tension between some of the team members that are dating (but that part isn’t really seen until season 2). One of the female character’s top is a little low (i.e Black Canary, and Cheshire has a short skirt thing. But they are not seen that often). Superboy and Miss Martian are seen kissing a few times. And that about sums up the negatives.

Pros:

There is team-building as the members learn to trust and protect each other.  The team operates more or less like a family. Although secrets are kept at times, they do come to light and the team helps that member. There are episodes just for particular characters where they grow as a character. Great story telling. The black-opt parts are done well, while still letting the hero’s use their powers. None of the team members are overpowered. The action scenes are nicely done!

Some of the other reasons I like Young Justice is because they introduce new characters that haven’t been seen on screen before. Characters like Superboy (one of my favorites), a new Aqualad (who has become one of my favorites), Blue Beetle (another favorite),  Long Shadow (okay he was a side character in Season 2, but hey he was still there). Wonder Girl (season 2), Miss Martian, Artemis, Impulse (season 2). But they also had familiar characters that have been around for ages, or have had their own TV time, like Robin, Kid Flash, Nightwing, Batgirl (season2), Beast Boy, Static Shock, Speedy/Red Arrow/Arsenal. And the show had a way of leaving views waning more.
I remember waiting all week for them to come out. And when the episode ended this would be me.
They also ended the show (and season) in such a cliff hanger!

Wow this post is getting long maybe I should end it… anyways those are a few of the reasons I loved Young Justice and I’m stoked for season 3. Unfortunately... there isn't much news on it yet. We are still in the dark about a lot of things, but I would definitely suggest the first 2 seasons to anyone. If you like superheroes give Young Justice a try, you may end up liking it just as much as me!

Anyways that’s it for this post. Till next time, Stay True to the King! Oh and check out the Angry Badger this Thor’s-day, there will be a new Movie review up.

Comments; have you seen Young Justice? If so who was your favorite? If not what do you think of it?

Pictures and gifs used are owned by their respective creators and I do not clam any of them as my own

  1. I have not seen Young Justice, but that's nice that they're coming out with season 3 - I know it's exciting when shows do that! Sherlock season three is *finally* coming out in January. Hoping that will be good.
If I could choose one show to create another season it'd be The Monkees, but seeing as they aired back in the 60's, and one of the members has since passed away, it's not going to happen. XP

    1. The Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch? could you imagine what it would look like if they brought back any show from the 60's with the same actors?

    2. Yep, that's the one. :)
Haha, that would be so interesting! I think actually that two of the Monkees for sure (possibly the remaining three) are still music touring - I think that'd be interesting to see, too. ^>^

    3. I've heard that, that Sherlock was pretty good. If that is so and they are still touring then at least they are keeping active in their senior years.

    4. Yep, it is. There are one or two episodes we skip, but for the most part, Sherlock is very good.
