The Voices Of YA

Hello everyone! Today I'll be taking part in The Voices Of Ya Tag, a thank you too ANNA who tagged me! So without further delay lets begin!

ABOUT THE WRITERS:

     1.      What draws you to YA?
Usually it is the unique premise. In YA it seems like the authors are more willing to be daring, to try something different. Plus they are shorter then your average adult novel. I tend to like books that are shorter then long drawn out books.

2.      Describe your writing process. Do you like outlines and structure, or seeing where the story takes you?

Well funny you should ask that. See I'm a big fan of outlining. Ever since I read that book "How to write and sell a Christian novel" By Gilbert Morris. His style of outlining fits perfectly with me because I like drawing. But since the time is close enough I will tell you all a little something. I am staring a story in which I'll let it become it's own thing with the help of the readers. See coming either on the 25th or the 1st I'll be starting a serial story, in which I hope all who read it will help it grow with their comments, thoughts, ideas, and criticisms on how it progresses. I am still unsure if I be posting it here or on Wattpad. But it will be happening soon. I hope you all will join me for that.

3.      How long have you been writing? Where are you in your journey?

I've been writing since I was 14 or 15. So about 6 or 7 years. It hasn't been that long in my journey as a writer began and I'm still relatively new to the whole endeavor. I was thinking of dedicating a post to my writing journey thus far a little later on in the year. As for where I am... I honestly don't know. I'm almost mid-way through writing the first draft of my first novel. And I'm just enjoying the process.

   4.  What do you need to write? Coffee? Music?
I don't really need anything in particular when it comes to writing. I do like nice music in the background, or a nice cup of tea. But I don't have to have either of those to write. I'm pretty chill ^.^

5.     If you could offer one piece of advice to another writer (OTHER THAN “don’t give up”), what would it be?
Ohh that's a hard one. I don't really think anyone would want my advice. Plus I'm no good at this inspirational stuff. But if I had to give something it would be along the lines of

"It will be hard. It will seem imposable. There will be odds stacked against you. There will be times where you want to quite. But nothing in this life has ever come easily. If God has given you the passion and desirer to become an Author then go for it. Seek God First then strive for it. Run that race with God being your strength. Reach for the heavens as you cling to Christ. God has given those who seek Him everything they need. Yes there will be hard times, times where you want to quite and times when you just don't want to go on. Times where your arms and legs are numb. In those times look up and be remained why you are here. If that is Gods path for you walk then walk it. For if you keep at it. If you don't give up and press on. If you keep pushing your own limits as you strive to reach your goal. There will come a time when you reach the end. And when you do, look up at Heaven and thank God for giving you the strength. Praise Him for giving you the ability to make it that far."

And that's all I got. As I said I'm not that inspirational.

ABOUT THE BOOKS:
1.       What book still has you reeling from its plot twist? (*no spoilers please*)
Ummm... I haven't read many books with plot twist I didn't see coming. Well that is except for this one called Grey Griffins the Clockwork Chronicles. I was like

2.      What books are you most anticipating for this year?
Oooo that's a good question... I'm not super up to date with all things books. I've started books like Orphan Song, Ilyon Chronicles, The Orc King and I'm interested in seeing how they end up.

3.      In your opinion, which YA book/series has the most unique premise?
Grey Griffins the Clockwork Chronicles. I mean it's just that cool. It's a very popular YA book so I don't think I need to say much on it beside the fact that it had a cool story idea.

4.      What is your all-time favorite quote from YA lit (I know, I’m cruel)?

Uuuuu... dang I knew I should have paid more attention to what they where saying in that last book...I Think It was in a YA book where they where about to charge into battle and this guy's battle cry was like "Let's not die!" or something like that. I'm really bad at these book quotes. I'm a big movie quoter though.

5.      What book do you most hope will have a movie adaption?
Grey Griffins The Clockwork Chronicles. That was a fun read and I could totally see it doing well as a movie with 4 parts. And Maybe The Beast of Talesend by Kyle Robert Shultz if it was made to be a comedy. There are other books out there I would like to see as a movie but the list would be to long.

Well that's it for this post. I hope you all enjoyed it! I'll be tagging

Luke Hartman @LukeHartman
and Chole Linn @RustlingThoughts
And anyone else who would like to join in.

Of course do not feel like you have to do this. I hope you all have a great rest of your summer and Until Next Time! Stay True to the King!

  1. I really enjoyed reading your answers to this Marrok.

AND WHAT DO YOU MEAN, YOU'RE NOT INSPIRATIONAL...that was some deep encouraging advice right there!!! xD
And honestly I rarely ever remember book quotes by heart, goodreads is the best for that :P Plus that gif has got to be the best choice ever for impending plot twists.

    1. Well thanks you Anna, thanks again for tagging me :D

Oh really? I didn't know you could find quotes on goodreads. I mean I have an account but I'm rarely on it. I know right! That commercial is like my favorite ever so I just had to use the gif since it worked so well!

  2. Awesome job.
Not inspirational? You've gotta be joking.
Yeah, I don't remember quotes from books that well. I mostly quote from movies or t.v. Of course, my favorite things to quote are How To Train Your Dragon and the Croods. Pretty much Dreamworks stuff.
    Loved reading your answers.

    1. Thanks Ivie, Yeah I'm not all that inspirational. It took all the thinking I had to come up with that.

Oooo those are like my favorite movies to quote, alone with Home. There is some pretty fun dialog in those movies.

    2. Yeah, there is. My siblings and I watch a lot of dreamworks cartoons. Also a bit of disney, so Big Hero Six is another one we quote. I mostly quote HTTYD and get on my siblings nerves, lol.

Thank you for following me. That means a lot and I really appreciate it. :D

    4. Well thank you!
I always try and make a point to thank those who follow me.

Yes, that part is hilarious! And Fred is funny, too. He reminds me of the other character the voice actor plays in HTTYD. Its like Fred is a modern version of the other character. :)

    5. He does doesn't he! Almost an exact copy of Tuffnut. Though I think as Tuffnut he is a little more daring/willing to do dangerous things that result in pain/injury.

    6. Yes, that is true. Plus I think Fred has a little more going on in the brains department. Just a little, lol.
But other than that, it just seems like the characters are a lot alike. I also thought it was funny that Fred's costume was a fire-breathing lizard. :D
